How to center the top roller Current Situation The slider is not centered because the bottom slider was not placed at 6 o’clock ?!

Your general challenge: You have to unmount and shift stuff to gain access to otherwise hidden screws

1) rotate the cogwheel so that the two sliders are horizontally. Don't try it with sliders in vertical position, you will damage them during crane operation. Two persons can lift the cogwheel with both sliders. 2) Tighten the two lock screws of the top roller 3) Verify that *all* screws of the bulky aluminum blocks are tight (they still should be) 4) Get a crane operator 5) Use two long straps and attach them to cogwheel. Make a loop between the top alu blocks and the cogwheel on each side (see previous pic). If necessary use then another rope or short strap for making sure that the cogwheel will not tip over while lifting. 6) Now the cogwheel is strapped and connected to the crane hook with minimum tension on the straps. Understand this: You are holding the cogwheel with the crane but you are not lifting yet !!! The weight is up to now distributed along the four roller. You have to avoid the situation that the top roller must support the total weight. 7) Now you are unlocking all lock screws to the roller translation stage EXCEPT the top roller 8) Use the knobs of the translation stages and move the rollers radially inward 9) Together with a crane operator: 10 Lift the cogwheel for an inch vertically up while two persons will hold the sliders and tilt and lift it from the top roller avoiding that the cogwheel gets stuck at the bottom roller. The long straps allow you to push and hold the cogwheel more downstream while the crane operator will move the cogwheel a bit up and more downstream. 11) Move the cogwheel somewhere. If necessary lay it down on the floor resting on wooden beans. Not sure if the crane operator likes the idea that instead of putting the cogwheel down it can hang on the hook for an hour or so... Removing the cogwheel

Removing the Top roller support

Shifting the cogwheel frame downstream For gaining access to hidden upstream Maytec set screws 1) Mark position of subframe here on these stubs (only left side shown)

Set screw locations (front+back) Ask Andy for a hydraulic jack (green long cylinder with lever and piston connected through hose) and a rubber hammer for moving the subframe downstream.

Reverse steps: move Maytec subframe back upstream to old marked position tighten all set screws of Maytec frame!!! readjust position of threaded plates in horizontal Maytec beans. Clamp the base plate on the Maytec stub. Make sure that the threaded plates are centered to the holes of the base plate. Mount the dove tail plate on the base plate. Clean the screws and apply thread lock on the ¼” flat screws Insert top roller support back into dove tail. Be patient. If it is too tight, loosen some ¼” flat screws (move roller accordingly) and retighten screws. insert lock screws reattach Cogwheel …
