 I think that learning how to add and subtract with decimals is important because it gives you a more precise answer. It is exact.

 Addition  I rounded 34.3 and that stayed as 34 because 3 is lower than 5. Then I rounded 16.8 and that became 17 because 8 is higher than 5.That is how I got my answer.  Subtraction I rounded 15.7 up to 16 because 7 is higher than 5.Then I rounded 9.4 to 9 because 4 is lower than 5. That is how I got my answer.

 I wonder how to multiply decimals ?  I think that you probably still have to round but then multiply the numbers. I think that because you probably would just use the same method[which is rounding] but different symbols.  I wonder how to divide decimals?  You probably still have to round but then divide the numbers.
