VFW Post 1170 Honor Guard Decision Brief VFW Honor Guard Future Role Expansion  Increasing Demand Trends for VFW Honor Guard services, i.e.,  Increasing number of WWII and Korean war veterans requesting VFW ceremonial services  Increased ceremonial duties stemming from patriotic movement to support troops with the War on Terrorism  Increased VFW expansion into the Class Room to educate our young on veterans and the VFW role  Unforeseen future demands due to continued War on Terrorism  Increasing HG role trends are suggesting a more streamlined/professional HG management approach  Continued future HG membership growth trends need consideration as well 4

VFW Post 1170 Honor Guard Decision Brief Proposed Honor Guard Additional Post Space To better facilitate the HG access, storage and operational space issues coupled with forecasted future increasing demand trends the following three proposed options are recommended for serious Post Leadership consideration and approval: Option 1 - Consolidation of storage room A into B & C = See next slide # 6 for graphical representation of this Option. This option would create a separate post space for the Honor Guard and address all the operational and growth concerns as mentioned in the presentation. Optimal. Option 2 - Consolidation of storage room B below into A & C = See slide 7 for graphical representation. This option would create a separate space for the HG but not necessarily be optimal for overall operations. Option 3 - Consolidation of storage room C below into A & B = See slide 8 for graphical representation. This option would create a separate space for the HG but not necessarily be optimal for overall operations. 5
