Federal Grant Awarded A Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) Grant was awarded to the District for three years to develop a K-12 Mandarin Chinese program. The grant established partnerships with The Stanford Research Team (SRT) from the School of Education at Stanford University The National Center for K-16 Chinese Language Pedagogy at UC Berkeley The California Foreign Language Project 2 PAUSD Board Report - May 25, 2010

High School Progress Implemented Chinese 1 Sept 2006 Summer STARTALK program 2007 – current Parent course in Mandarin Summer 2007 Implemented Chinese 1, 2, 1 st sem Implemented Chinese 1, 2, 3, Developed AP Chinese; UC approved Full range of Chinese offerings 1-5 AP 27 students took AP test 3 PAUSD Board Report - May 25, 2010
