Hebrews 13 Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow-prisoners, and those who are ill-treated as if you yourselves were suffering. Marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.

Hebrews 13 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them. We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle have no right to eat. The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise— the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Hebrews 13 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you. Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honourably in every way. I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon. May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Brothers, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written you only a short letter. I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you. Greet all your leaders and all God's people. Those from Italy send you their greetings. Grace be with you all.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer sour bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God— this is your spiritual act of worship Rom 12:1 “It is vanity to seek riches that shall perish and to put one’s hope in them. It is vanity also to aspire to honours and to climb to high degree. It is vanity to follow the lust of the flesh” Thomas a Kempis

Heb 13:5-6, 1 Tim 6:7-10, 17-19, Phil 4:12, Luke 12:15 Money Be content Heb 13:5-6, 1 Tim 6:7-10, 17-19, Phil 4:12, Luke 12:15 Be generous Heb 13:2-3, 16, 2 Cor 9:6 Be intentional 2 Cor 9:7, 1 Cor 16:2 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Malachi 3:10 “A careless budget leads to careless spending that leads to careless giving!”

Sex Be pure Be ruthless Be loving Heb 13:4, Gen 1:27-28, Matt 19:4-6, 1 Cor 6:16 Be ruthless Matt 5:27-30, Phil 4:8 Be loving Heb 13:1-3, 1 Tim 5:1-2 “Sex is like a great river, rich and deep and good as long as it remains in its proper channel. The moment it overflows its banks, it becomes destructive. The moment sex overflows the God-given banks, it also becomes destructive. Our task is to define as clearly as possible the boundaries and do all we can to keep our sexual responses in that deep rich current.” Richard Foster

Encourage your leaders! Power Be obedient Heb 13:7-9, 2 Tim 4:2-3 Eph 6:5, Rom 13:1 Be faithful Heb 13:17-19 Encourage your leaders!

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Eph 4:1 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen Heb 13:20-21
