Los Pasatiempos y la Música Latina IB Language B

Our Statement of Inquiry: “Pastimes, such as music, are representations of the constant transformation of culture over time.” [You should write that down. And think about it. What does that even mean?]

Guiding Questions: What are some common musical genres in Spanish-speaking countries? What are some common pastimes that we are familiar with? What vocabulary do we need to describe pastimes and music in Spanish? What is the purpose of pastimes and music? What are the possible uses of music, and which, if any, are the most valuable? Do all musical genres and traditions have equal cultural value?

What is the purpose of pastimes? Think about it... What is the purpose of pastimes? of music?

Where are we headed? In this unit, you’ll be working on the following skills...
