Project Overview Lake Carmi has been participating in the Lay Monitoring Program since 1979, with 2 in-lake sampling sites Since 2008 the FWC started the monitoring program with 9 tributary monitoring sites, with sample processing done with the LaRosa Lab This 2010 season there are 17 tributary sites and 2 in- lake sampling sites Today we will be showing graphs for each monitoring, comparing data from all 3 years

Project Goals Monitor phosphorous and chlorophyll levels in lake waters to establish base of data so changes in concentrations can be detected and analyzed Monitor tributaries to find the largest phosphorous contributors Once phosphorous “hot spots” are identified, concentrate grant funding on these areas to reduce phosphorous runoff

Lake Carmi Water Clarity

Conclusions This data has shown that many of the tributaries are contributing above-average loads of phosphorous to the Lake. We will continue to monitor the streams so we can determine where to allocate funding for phosphorous reducing projects
