ISOC Vietnam A brief Introduction

“The Internet is for Everyone” was founded in 1992 by the same people who invented the Internet is a non-profit, non-governmental, international, professional membership organisation has at present more than 8000 individual and 150 organisational members in more than 150 nations.

“The Internet is for Everyone” Focuses on –Technology, Standards: IETF, IAB –Training, especially for developing countries –Societal Issues: ISTF –Administration: ICANN

“The Internet is for Everyone” Works through Individuals –The Internet has traditionally been planned by individuals (=> IETF) –Individuals have other motivation e.g. for issues, which are not interesting for business –Individuals have additional experience, relations.… –Individuals are more flexible e.g. than governments –eDemocracy starts with a "bottom-up Internet"
