History of the Mission Mission History I t was founded by Farther Fermin Lasuen. It’s location is on a hill at the end of Laguna street overlooking the city of Santa Barbara. The date the mission was founded, December 4 1786.

Daily Life The indians lived at the mission and they provided the workers that the missions needed. For the indians life at the missions was unlike their traditional ways bof life. The indians did all of the farming and croping. At the missions , priest tought the indian families about christianity and spanish ways of life

Special Features Special Features A nickname for this mission is Saint Barbara. In the mission the bell are a useful tool, it tells them when to work, eat, and stop working. They also had a big water system to keep them from dieing of theirst. One the that was unique about this mission is that the hill the mission was built on was called ‘’rocky mound.’’

Historic Highlights The location the mission was built on was called ‘’rocky mound’’ Mission Santa Barbara was the most advanced and complete of any of the missions along El Camino Real Santa Barbara became an active mission on December 4, 1786

Mission Today The mission today looks the same but not as much as it did when it was made. Also mission Santa Barbara is still used today.
