TF Data Standards & Data Access GGBN 2012 Meeting Plenary Gabi Droege (Chair), Jonathan Coddington, Paul Flemons, Adrian Hine, Éamonn Ó Tuama

GGBN Data standard Reviewed ABCDDNA -> some gaps have to be filled (-> TDWG) ABCDDNA acceptable for implementation in Phase I (e.g. Australian Museum) Begin TDWG compliant process for developing a DarwinCore DNA extension and alignment with next version of ABCDDNA  form TDWG task group (GCS, ABCDDNA, GGBN, DwC, GBIF)  First draft of new standard by October 2012 (Beijing meeting)

GGBN data portal DFG proposal, – Expand DNA Bank Network’s brand to include GGBN with regard to functionality Recommend adoption of DNA Bank Network portal for Phase I of GGBN Include Australian Museum into data portal

GGBN Metadata Registry Using GBIF registry GBIF registry connected to GGBN data portal via web services Requirement for dataset/collection level metadata description  Aspirational and Core Members registered in GBIF registry  GGBN Metadata Registry

GGBN Metadata Registry Collaboration with biorepositories.org/BCI/IH  Requirement: globally unique community level identifiers (GGBN)  Requirement: globally unique collection level identifiers (DNA banks)
