Ms Steinbeisser’s First Graders Visit the Wolfle Library Join us for a tour!

When we walk in the door of the library, the scarecrow smiles at us.

We stop at Velma, the Velociraptor, and wait for Mrs. McNeely- Mobley to tell us where to sit.

We sit ‘criss-cross applesauce’ on the rug with our hands in our laps.

We are looking at our librarian who is reading us a story called Seymour Slug Starts School.

Our signal word this month is ‘author.’ We use actions and say, “Author, writing words for readers, author.” Then we get up.

We pull-out-two-books because we may not want that one. Books have homes and they need to stay there.

We can choose nonfiction books (true) about trucks, spiders and rainbows.

There are fiction (fake) books about lots of things. Our library has millions.

When we choose our book we go to the computer desk and Mrs. Rambough asks us our name. Sometimes she knows it already.

After checkout we come back to the rug and read our books. We turn pages from the top corner too.

Some days we have time to share with each other. We sit knees-to-knees.

Can you see the wolf puppet? He helps us know where to line up. We hold our books carefully too!

Exit means ‘to go out’ and we use that door. Goodbye, see you next time!
