The Start  Export Certificates are G2G documents issued to facilitate trade of agricultural products by assuring that the commodity has met the importing government requirements.  Certification may cover animal or plant health, food safety or public health, or animal welfare issues.  Paper certificates have been issued for many years and are subject to international standards for food

Statistics Australia and New Zealand combined for export  1900 templates in use  trade with 120 economies  30 + languages supported  certificates for edible meat issued each year  16,000 of these are exchanged between AU & NZ

The Start  Food Safety Quadrilaterals for Meat (USA/Canada/NZ & Australia) –Collaboration of NZFSA & AQIS  Food Safety Quadrilaterals for Plant  Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC)  World Customs Organisation (WCO)

The Project  NZFSA & AQIS collaborated to –agree language and technology –align data requirements –identify business requirements –achieve UN/CEFACT standard –implement

UN/CEFACT  Established the eCert Project Team under TBG 15 – Trade Facilitation –First meeting in 2004 in Bonn, Germany –Representatives from Canada, USA, WCO, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Australia and New Zealand  BRS approved  TBG 17 harmonization completed and requirements included in the D08A CCL  RSM submitted to ICG for audit.
