Metropolitan Planning Organization – January 27, Bexar County/Alamo RMA Strategic Mobility Plan What is the $ 825 M Plan? A partnership between Bexar County, Alamo RMA, City of San Antonio, VIA and TxDOT. Utilizes available funds from a variety of sources to implement 3 needed projects (US 281, I-10, LP 1604). Provides for the implementation of the 3 projects within the next 2-5 years as opposed to waiting on them for over 10 years.

Metropolitan Planning Organization– January 27, 2014 Bexar County/Alamo RMA 5-Year Strategic Mobility Plan The proposed $ 825 Million Bexar County/Alamo RMA Strategic Mobility Plan includes the following three projects. US HWY 281 from LP 1604 to County Line – The scope of the $458M project is a combination of new non tolled and tolled lanes plus frontage roads. Proposed funding for the project is comprised of following sources:  $78 M in Local Funding ($48M in ATD and $30M in CoSA)  $150M of funds already committed in the UTP ($144M Cat 2 and $6M Prop 12)  $230M TxDOT loan paid back with toll revenue LOOP 1604 from FM 471 to US 90 – This $187M project would construct 4 new non-tolled lanes in the existing median of LP Funding for this project is a combination of:  $117 M in local ATD funds  $70M in local funds (Bexar County Vehicle Registration Fee). Interstate 10 From Ralph Fair (FM 3351) to LP 1604 – This $180M project includes the construction of 2 new tolled managed lanes and priority managed lane direct connectors at the I-10/1604 interchange. Proposed funding sources for this project are:  $70 M grant from TxDOT (Match for Bexar County vehicle registration)  $72 M in previously committed funds in the UTP (Cat 2)  $38M TxDOT loan paid back with toll revenue The chart summarizes the above narrative and provides totals for each of the funding sources.
