Ms. Cortrino’s Floating Candyland

Which candy will float

If I place different types of candy in water, then I think the ones made of marshmallows will float because they are made mostly of air.

Various candies, such as: Whoppers, Kit Kat bars, marshmallows, chocolate hearts, Reese’s, hard candies, conversation hearts, truffles, Babyruth Caramel hearth Blow pop Bowls and cups with water

1.Drop the candy in the water. 2.Watch what happens: Does it sink or float? Record Data/Results 3.Multiple trials

I changed the types of candies I placed in the water. The things that stayed the same were the amount of water and the containers.

Sink Float

We learned that candy made mostly of air will float.
