4 RCC The Hague, 18 February 2011 Feedback of ERGEG on consultation Regulators generally welcome the RI Communication The proposals for market coupling in gas need to be clarified Any change to the geographic coverage of the RIs should only be done after a cost benefit analysis Defendence of the SEE region and offering of assistance, through ACER, in developing criteria against which and further changes could be assessed The independence of regulators in the governance structure should be ensured, and the role of the RCCs as the day to day coordinators of the RIs should be reasserted  The response agreed by RIG makes the following main points

5 RCC The Hague, 18 February 2011 Next steps by European Commission  Deadline for feedback on consultation: 15 February 2011  EC will consider possible legislative or policy initiatives to reinforce cooperation at regional level in the second half of 2011 Operating statement seems to fit – on general basis – the vision of the EC, but will be finalized once EC has published final vision
