Green Transport Scenario

Issues to address foresight debate Russian Perspective of the Green Transport Scenario: Projecting the situation when the EU regulations and rules of the EU neighbouring countries lay ground for developing a network of green multimodal transport corridors as a priority network in the BSR (correspondent to present TEN-T network). Where will the Green Corridors be in 2030 and how will these be developed until then? How can the transport flows be greener in the future and which measures could be expected from the different actors in the market? How can we increase intermodality and multimodality in the Baltic Sea Region further and where should the focal points be? Where are the bottlenecks today and how can these be eliminated for a prosperous development of the Green Transport Scenario?

Issues to address foresight debate Russian Perspective of the Gateway Scenario: East-West and North-South flows throughout the Baltic Sea Region in 2030 where will the flows be? Northern Transport Axis including the Arctic Passage – how will this develop and how will the flow spread out over the Baltic Sea Region? Where are the connections between Russia, the Baltic States, Scandinavia, Western, Central and Easter Europe in 2030? Many ports or a few large hubs in the future? Kaliningrad and St Petersburg as hubs in 2030 – and other Baltic hubs? How will this develop? Which role will Odessa and other southern ports play for the Baltic Sea Region? How will the Asian trade and transports with Europe develop and what can be done to enhance this development towards the Baltic Sea Region?
