The INFINITY Project Overview An integral part of the FP7 FI-PPP Programme of projects dedicated to promoting the “future internet” for Europe A Coordination and Support Action Runs from April 2011  March 2014 (3 years) Supported by €3m funding from the EC 12 Partners (Coordinator: UPM) + new ones from an Invitation to Tender for developing value-added services for the XiPi Repository

The INFINITY Objectives To facilitate communication and collaboration between future internet infrastructure owners across Europe and organisations developing future internet applications in order to: position Europe at the centre of the future of the Internet directly support experimentation for FI-PPP projects and investors accelerate the development and uptake of social and commercial solutions that will provide benefit to the citizens, businesses and governments of Europe

Our (key) achievements so far We have: identified and contacted about 400 infrastructures across Europe and beyond gathered, analysed, evaluated and organised information from over 160 Future Internet infrastructures / experimental facilities and test beds from across Europe developed and launched a “live” web enabled repository ‘XiPi’ initiated a process to encourage and support interaction, and collaboration between infrastructure (test bed, experimental infrastructure) owners and application developers (primarily Use Case developers) conducted an initial analysis of the infrastructure data, towards delivery of an FI roadmap Bringing together supply and demand sides for future internet services, engaging research, public service, communications and ICT and end user communities in the process of innovation
