MAJOR MOTIVATORS OF PEOPLE MAJOR MOTIVATORS OF PEOPLE MONEY 1.Material lust – Some want ;money for what it will buy. 2.Power lust – Some want it in order to feel superior to others 3.Fear – Some are afraid of being poor or going hungry. 4.Social lust – Some desperately want to fit into the upper class.

POWER 1.Some have an inclination to dominate others. 2.Power makes them feel more important or superior to others. 3.They often seek careers that are more authority oriented; law enforcement, military, judges, coaches, inspectors, bureaucrats, politics 4.They derive pleasure by forcing their will over others. 5.These people are inflexible, rude, harsh, and inconsiderate. 6.People will use whatever they have to exert power: brains, brawn, beauty, family name,

APPROBATION 1.Some want to be liked above all else 2.They cannot handle rejection or criticism. 3.They thrive on praise or even flattery. 4.There is nothing they won’t do to please others or to be accepted. 5.These people fail miserably when put in positions of authority.

SEX 1.Some people live for sex. 2.They do not control their sexual urges. 3.They are constantly anticipating their next sexual encounter. 4.Their own physical gratification is supreme and they cannot be trusted. 5.Normal sex in marriage does not satisfy them so they seek more partners and more bizarre encounters.

ALCOHOL, DRUGS, & FOOD 1.Some people live for their next drink, their next fix or their nest binge. 2.They are slaves to their addiction. 3.Their addiction destroys their body. 4.Addiction is not the real problem, it is a symptom of the real problem. 5.The addiction cannot be broken until the real problem is addressed.

PLEASURE 1.For some, life is all about the pursuit of pleasure. 2.Having fun is the god of the “party hearty” crowd. 3.A person can become addicted to having fun. ex. video games, sports, T.V. etc. 4.Some neglect their responsibilities in order to have fun. 1 Thes. 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you;

REVENGE 1.Some people are extremely angry, their goal in life is to get even with someone. 2.Their thoughts are consumed with how they will make someone pay for what they did. 3.They have bought into the lie that they can derive happiness from someone else’s unhappiness. 4.They are unaware of, or have ignored the fact that God has forbidden us to seek revenge. Romans 12:19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.

CRUSADING 1.The life mission for some is to change the world. 2.Some try to whitewash the devil’s world by crusading. 3.This is manifested sometimes through activism including civil disobedience. 4. Radical environmentalists, anti-abortion fanatics, P.E.T.A., etc. fall into this category Muslims are taught that they should be on a crusade to convert the world to Islam and to kill infidels who refuse to submit to Allah.
