Educator Effectiveness: Making Connections & Rubric Analysis Presented by the Oregon Department of Education August 2013

What is the work you are doing? – Brainstorm initiatives in your district – Share out Activity 1: Tallying the Initiatives

1.Develop understanding of the integration of Educator Effectiveness (EE), Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and School Improvement (SI) 2.Connecting standards for teachers and standards for students through a review of district EE rubrics Today’s Outcomes

Activity 2: Article Review Jigsaw “Integrating the Common Core into Educator Effectiveness Work” – Read your assigned section – Share key points from each section in your table groups – Tables share out a major take-away CCSS_TE_Integration_DRAFT_Feb12.pdf

Coordinate timelines at the state level and integrate them into a cohesive work plan Coordinate messages from the state so you are hearing the same thing Provide samples of documents/tools related to each of the initiatives Provide integrated support identified by districts Integrating EE, CCSS, and SI: Commitments from ODE
