Objectives Identify the different models in use The basic operation of each model

How to identify your radio All radios should have a sticker on the back of the radio with the model number on it The different models are EPH GPH GPHCMD DPH DPHCMD

EPH The EPH is a 210 channel radio The channels are broke into 15 banks of 14 channels

GPH and DPH Both the GPH and the DPH are 240 channel radios The channels are broke into 15 groups of 16 channels The key difference is the DPH is capable of digital operation

GPHCMD and DPHCMD The command versions of the GPH and DPH increase the channels to 500 They are broke into 25 groups of 20 channels The DPHCMD is capable of digital operation

Common Features On/Off and Volume Squelch Hi/Lo power Scan on/off Priority on/off Busy indicator Channel selector

Changing CG Tones Turn scan and priority off Push the number of the CG tone (1-9) Press 0 to clear the tone and reset to the original program For EPH, GPH, and DPH CG (Code Guard) Also Called PL Tones

Display on the EPH On the EPH radio the CG channel will flash on the screen when you transmit Transmitting on CG 2 This only means you are transmitting on this channels CG tone Transmit channel

CG Tones For the EPH, GPH, and DPH TM Slide, NDF McClellan, Lyon county Pond, and Sparks VHF Repeater TM Peavine, NDF Peavine, TM Virginia Peak, NDF Pinenut, HTF Rawe TM Gerlach, NDF Snow Valley

Changing CG Tones For the Command models Turn scan and priority off Press FCN Press 8 Now you pick 1-32 and Press ENT You can also press PRI repeatedly to scroll thru the CG tones

Changing Groups All Models Press # Press the number of the group 1-15 (1-25 on CMD models) Press ENT

Scan List Turn to the channel you wish to add or delete Turn scan and priority off Press ENT to add Press CLR to delete Note: This only deletes from the scan list not from the radio All models

The Command Group CMD Model radios only The command radios allow you to take any channel from the radio and put it in the command group Turn scan and priority off Turn to the channel you want in the command group Press the * key Press ENT

The Command Group Continued To delete the channel from the command group The radio needs to be on the command group Turn to the channel you wish to remove Press the * key Press CLR
