The oxidative part refers to the process in the presence of oxygen (as final electron receptor in the ETC) The phosphorylation part refers to the addition of an inorganic phosphate (P i ) to ADP in order to produce ATP Uses ATP Synthase enzyme Occurs only in cellular respiration
