Co-operatives around the world In the USA, 30,000 co-operatives provide more than 2 million jobs In Spain, the Mondragon Corporation employs over 80,000 people and has assets worth more that 35bn Euros In India, the Kerala sugar cane co-ops have over 50 million members In the UK, there were 6169 co-ops in 2012 with turnover of £36bn. 593 of these are in Scotland (£4.2 bn) In Glasgow, there are approximately 110 co-ops Glasgow City Council
