CHAPTER 1 Smile

Pass back and forth: paragraph 1  Walking in one direction, then back to the same place again.  Usually, when I go to a restaurant, I see the servers walk back and forth from the kitchen to the customers tables.

Concentrating so heavily: Paragraph 1  When you are very focused on something  Heavily = very  When I studied for my big test, I concentrated heavily.

Cried out: Paragraph 2  To say something loudly, like shouting  When the dog ran towards me, I cried out “Help!!”

I think about this incident and laugh: Paragraph 6  Incident = situation or event  Every time I think about my friend’s joke, I laugh. Think about it  laugh
