Coke testing for science With Jack

Coca-Cola This is the nutritional information for an 8fl oz. can of coke. That is the amount that I used. "Nutrition Connection." Coca-Cola. Coca- Cola, n.d. Web. 11 Sept

How we test I tested to see whether or not coke has glucose in it. To do this test we need Benedict's solution. WARNING! Benedict’s solution has copper in it which could cause your blood vessels to burst causing health problems

How we test Pt. 2 Get a test tube and put two centimeters of the Coke in. Then add ten drops of benedicts solution to the tube. Place in a beaker three quarters full of boiling hot water in. At the start it will most likely be blue because of the benedicts solution. If the substance contains glucose it will turn yellow.

Test Results TestObservationConclusionIs this the expected result GlucoseVery quickly the color changed to yellow This shows that the coke contains a lots of glucose Yes

Coke: the super drink An 8fl oz. can of coke contains 100 cal. of energy. An average 12 year old boy needs about 2,800 cal. A day. An average 12 year old boy needs about 2,800 cal. A day. That means that a boy would need 28 cans of coke each day to reach his calories for the day

My daily Intake As you can see in the graph I will get zero protein and fat but got 283 more grams than I need for my carbohydrates. The lack of not having fat and protein means that I can’t develop my body and muscle strength.
