The Allies There were two allies, The Triple Entente of the United Kingdom, France and the Russian Empire and the Central Powers of Germany and Austria- Hungary. Italy were part of the Central Powers, until Italy started being offensive against the terms. A few days after, the USA, the Ottoman Empire, Bulgaria and Japan joined the allies and the allies had to be reorganized. There was more than 70 million personnel including 60 million Europeans.

Why did the World War start? The World War l started when a Serbian terrorist shot an Austro-Hungarian archduke Sarajevo, Bosnia in 1914 because the Serbians were angry with Austro- Hungarian’s for annexing Bosnia.
