The conversion of the slaves It began principally of Byzantium. Millennium A.C, the Slavs were living in tribes beyond Carpathians. 5th century, the Slavs advanced towards Danube, formed three different groups: - The Slavs of East occupied the Russian plain. - The western Slavs, except the Posts, it fell below the Ottoman domination. - Between the two, the Baltic peoples (Estonians, Letts and Lithuanians) had to be opposed to the pressure.

The conversion of the slaves In the 9th century Oriental Slav chose to the Germans as a origin of Christian change. Cyril and Methodius by the rulers of Moravia around 863. But the occidental Slavs and some of the southern Slavs. Cyril is the most important: was an alphabet for them inspired by Greek and the sire of present-day Cyrillic. The desire to organize homogeneous conditions the 19th century. The Spanish fought against Napoleon's rule, the German and Italian nations were formed. They eliminated the big European colonial Empires but Hitler took it to the excess and the criminality and the people of extermination that he judged for being lower than the supposition ' the Aryan purity ' of the Germans.

A new Europe? The Second World War, born of nationalist madness, dominated by two powers, the United States and the Soviet Union. In the West, the revival of Europe was due to three essential political choices: democracy, guaranteed by free election; a market economy, and reconciliation among Europeans, in particular between the French and the Germans.

A new Europe? The EEC in 1951 and 1957 by the European Community, whose growth and enlargement has not been without crises and tensions. In the East the URSS saw itself as the model on which all the countries liberated by the Red Army should align themselves.

A new Europe? Their integration was achieved under Soviet control. Mikhail Gorbachev secretary general opted in 1985 for liberation. The countries of Eastern Europe won their freedom, within the frontiers established when the continent was divided in 1945.
