MS Access 2003 Tutorial By: Juan GUANTENG!!! Y7

Step 1 Launch the Microsoft Access 2003 program. This can be done by clicking an icon on the desktop or choosing it from the list of All Programs. Step 2 To create a new database, simply click on the Blank database link located on the right side of the screen. If this pane is not visible, click on the 'File' link in the menu bar and choose 'New'. Choose the 'Blank database' option. This database will need to be saved immediately. A dialog box will open to allow the user to choose the location and file name of the database. Step 3 Once the database has been saved, users can select the objects that can be added to it. Users can start the database by adding a Table. This can be done by using the Design View, the wizard, or by simply entering data. STEP 4 Save the created table by going to 'File' on the Menu bar and selecting 'Save' from the drop-down menu. Users can also click on the 'Save' icon on the toolbar. A dialog box will appear asking users to enter the Table Name. Click 'OK' after the proper name has been entered.

Database You can use a Database Wizard to create in one operation the required tables, forms, and reports for the type of database you choose — this is the easiest way to start creating your database. The wizard offers limited options to customize the database. 1. Click New on the toolbar. 2. In the New File task pane, under Templates, click On my computer. 3. On the Databases tab, click the icon for the kind of database you want to create, and then click OK. 4. In the File New Database dialog box, specify a name and location for the database, and then click Create. 5. Follow the instructions in the Database Wizard.

Objects: The Database window of Access 2003 gives you access to the Objects toolbar. You can then use the object to organize your database, initiate queries, and do all the functions you use Access 2003 to do. Display the Database window by clicking the Database Window button on the toolbar or pressing F11.

Table….Queries and Forms Tab Tables - hold the raw data Queries - extract part of the raw data to produce dynasts - dynamic sets of data which can change each time the query is run (to reflect any changes to the data in the tables) Forms - user-friendly layouts to display data on the screen (either in a table or from a query)
