Our Mission To become the influential and effective voice of the public and give adults, young people, children and communities a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided within Hillingdon.

What has Healthwatch been set up to do? Gather the views and experiences of local people Make views known to commissioners and providers To help people get the best out of their health and social care To use statutory ‘enter and view’ visiting powers Provide people with information, advice and support Provide an advocacy service (provided by VoiceAbility) Work with other local Healthwatch Provide Healthwatch England with intelligence and insight

How we will do this ENGAGE Working with organisations, community networks, groups and individuals we will gather the experiences and views of local people about local health & social care services. INFLUENCE We will let the decision-makers know about people experiences, how services can be improved and work with them to improve services. ENABLE Through training and support, we will empower individuals and sections of the community, especially those that are seldom heard, to play their part in improving Hillingdon’s health and social care services INFORM Provide an advice and information service about access to local health & social care services.

Our achievements so far? ENGAGING  Built relationships with commissioners and providers of services  Gathered evidence on patient experience of Accident & Emergency, Maternity and Domiciliary Care and are working with providers and commissioners to improve service quality INFLUENCING  Have seats at over 30 strategic meetings and working groups ensures the public has a voice to influence services and enables us to inform the public  Built our credibility to enable commissioners and providers to value working with Healthwatch Hillingdon

Our achievements so far? ENABLING  Whilst developing Healthwatch we have continued and built upon the work of LINk from the first day of operation  We continue to recruit, train and empower volunteers to enable them to help improve services in their community INFORMING  We are providing an information and signposting service from our shop helping people to access local services  Keeping people informed on health and social care services. e.g. Partnered Age UK to deliver a dementia workshop to 70 diverse elders e.g. Keeping residents up to date on service changes
