I am learning: About the origins and importance of Ash Wednesday and Lent. About Jesus’ teaching on repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation. How prayer, fasting and almsgiving are connected to Lent. The ways in which I can put prayer, fasting and almsgiving into practice this Lent.

What can you do during Lent to help prepare for Easter ? S5 Pupils talk through some of the examples of how to Pray, Fast and Give Alms during Lent in the school, home and parish. Pupils are then given a Lenten Pledge sheet to take away. This is followed up in the next R.E. Lesson.
