Adding files to the library Select Add Files.. from the Library menu Browse to the correct folder and select required files. Hold down the Shift key to select more than one file. Before you can use clips, the relevant files must be added to the library. The video editor will create low- quality images to use when editing but will use the original files to render the finished video file. It is important that files are not moved to a different location once they have been added to the library.

Previewing a clip To preview a clip, double-click on the selected clip in the library. The clip will play in the Preview window. Use the video control buttons to stop or pause the clip.

Rearranging clips in the timeline Drag and drop the required clips into the timeline to construct the video. Once in the timeline, each clip can be moved, removed and edited separately. To view the entire video, highlight all the clips in the timeline.

Cutting a clip to the required length 3 Mark the in and out points by moving the red markers under the Preview screen to the required position. 2 Select Cutting Room from the Tool selection menu. 1 To edit a clip, select it by double-clicking on it in the time line. 4 Click Apply.

Transitions 1 Highlight the transition in the timeline. 2Select Transitions from the Tool selection menu. 3 Select the required transition from the library. 4 Adjust the duration of the transition. 5 Preview the effect in the Preview screen. 6 Click Apply.

Add text 1 Select the clip in the timeline. 2Select Text in the Tool selection menu. 3 Select the required text transition from the library. 4 Enter the required text and select position, font, colour and transparency for the Start, Hold and Finish tabs.

Export to required format Select the required video format from those offered. There will be considerable differences in quality and file size. It is important to select the appropriate format for the intended use.
