Three Questions 1)What is God’s Will for me this week? Obedience or Guidance 2) Who do I need to understand better?

Understanding people better Example: a Eunuch Trusted advisers to the powerful “No-one who has been emasculated by crushing or cutting may enter the assembly of the LORD.” (Deuteronomy 23:1)

1 Samuel 8: Understanding Monarchs 4 The elders of Israel came to Samuel and 5 said to him, "Appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have." 11 Samuel said, "This is what the king will do: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots, 12 some he will assign to plough his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields & give them to his attendants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain & give it to his officials & attendants. 16 Your menservants and maidservants and the best of your cattle he will take for his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day." 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us.

Acts 8 26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Go south to the road-- the desert road– that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the book of Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Spirit told Philip, "Go to that chariot and stay near it." 30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. Doing God’s Will Understanding the other

"Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked. 31 "How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture: "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 33 In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth." 34 The eunuch asked Philip, "Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?" 35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. Doing God’s Will - Understanding the other Understanding and Sharing the Good News

Three Questions 1)What is God’s Will for me this week? Obedience or Guidance 2) Who do I need to understand better? 3) Do I understand how the good news applies to this other person?

The Gospel By this gospel you are saved: Christ died for our sins … and was raised. (1 Corinthians 15:2-5) God has made known this mystery which is, Christ in you, the hope of glory(Colossians 1:27) We were buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Romans 6:4) I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.(Galatians 2:20) God was pleased to have all his fulness dwell in the Lord Jesus Christ, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (Colossians 1:19-20)
