11:1-44

One day, Jesus received a message from Mary and Martha. Lazarus was very sick. Mary and Martha wanted Jesus to come straight away. But Jesus could not travel for another two days.

When Jesus arrived at the place where Mary and Martha lived Martha ran to meet him. She was crying

Martha told Jesus that her brother Lazarus had died. Mary and Martha had hoped Jesus would get there in time to heal Lazarus.

Although Jesus was very sad, he knew he could help. He walked over to Lazarus’ tomb and asked some men to roll away the stone. Jesus prayed out loud and asked his father to show everyone that it was not too late.

Jesus shouted and Lazarus came out of the tomb. He was alive again. Everyone was amazed and many people started to believe in Jesus that day.
