Progress through Partnership (PtP) The LSP support programme in the South East Presented by Peter Johnson Programme Manager

Why are LSPs interested in Community Engagement? LSPs are the forum for developing a vision for an area – articulated in a Sustainable Community Strategy Through CAA they will be assessed on how well they have engaged their communities in developing this vision Through the LAA they will be assessed on how well they deliver against this vision, including how they involve communities in making decisions about delivery

…so what is PtP? LSP support programme - began in Apr 2007 Delivered by Shared Intelligence (a commercial consultancy) and South East Employers (a not for profit public sector employers organisation governed by elected members) Funded through Regional Improvement Partnership Currently being independently evaluated

…so what does PtP do? PtP helps LSP partners and support staff learn from each other PtP coordinates learning activities so LSPs don’t have to PtP helps LSPs help themselves

The PtP programme components 1.A regional hub 2.‘Themed Learning’ and peer support 3.Coordinating drawdown credits – funds for individual LSPs to use for bespoke development Underlying principle – to be peer led

What aspects of PtP might interest you…? 1.Events Participatory Budgeting (this event) Communities in control – sub-regional briefing events (Sept / Oct) 2.Knowledge networks 3.Member ‘learning module’ on PB 4.Peer support – help with developing strategic engagement

PtP - Communications Website Regular newswires Newsletter - issue 4 circulated July (Article by Davy Jones on community engagement)
