PtP progress to date – regional events Completed events Launch event Place shaping event LSP Health Partners: The contribution of LSPs to better local health LSP governance and accountability Upcoming events Sustainability and sustainable community strategies (21 st Sept) LAA event (provisional) Conference (Late November)

Progress to date - Communications Website launched Monthly newswires Community of Practice (under development) Newsletter - issue 1 circulated June

Progress to date Integration with leadership centre/LAA work 7 pilot events in region being taken forward by leadership centre (5 completed) 2 feasibility studies in region LAA plus network led by Shared intelligence GOSE networks Critical Challenge Self assessment Completed by ¾ of LSPs in region Provides views of LSPs directly

What we have learned/confirmed Evidence Self assessment (returns from ¾ of LSPs in region) PtP events LAA pilot events 1.Member engagement is weak 2.Governance arrangements are causing concern 3.Scrutiny is poor 4.LAA delivery arrangements are confused 5.Community and spatial planning needs to be aligned 6.Performance and risk management is inadequate 7.Effective sub-regional LSP practitioner and chair networks help

Where we have got to… The government has laid out it’s stall (White Paper) The issues to be resolved have been identified PtP has put a capacity building infrastructure in place There is a small resource being made available...but LSPs will need to develop their own solutions …how will your LSP engage?

What can LSPs do? LSPs can come together in workshop format to debate issues and build consensus Representatives of several LSPs come together in workshop format to debate issues and build consensus Practitioners/partners come together via action learning or mentoring to share experiences and ideas (regional) Practitioners/partners come together via action learning or mentoring to share experiences and ideas (sub-regional) LSPs can celebrate successes (to stimulate organic growth). All approaches build on the theme of developing contacts and relationships through networks

Themes for sharing ideas and experiences Performance management in partnerships Leadership for health and well being Scrutiny of partnerships (member engagement) Integrating community and spatial planning Issues for urban unitaries These are likely to be the basis of the PtP regional learning sets (which could be mirrored sub-regionally)

Region An example of how this might join up (scrutiny) Regional learning set Sub – regional learning set Individual LSPs

Practitioner Associates Need Members & Chairs to champion their LSP Provide Peer to Peer support through sharing experiences & knowledge Promote the opportunities effective partnerships offer & build expertise Individually tailored assignments (£250 per day) Support networks towards focussed learning & outcomes Training will be provided – 5 th /7 th Sept followed by continued support through the PtP programme to work with partnerships Community of Practice – sharing information

Sub – regional approach Some clusters of LSPs are pooling funds (eg Hants 50% Oxford 66%) Pooled funds may be enhanced from centre Activities informed by Leadership Centre pilots and other LAA work Networks make a big difference!
