Talk to Me In the last lesson we talked about how to show you are listening. Who can remember what we talked about? Today we are going to talk about how to start a conversation.

Starting a Conversation Sometimes it can be hard to start a conversation or join a group. There are some things that you can do to make it easier. For example, you could have a set of words ready.

Starting a Conversation Now let’s brainstorm! What are some words you could use to start a conversation?

Starting a conversation Here are some extra words you could use. Can I join in? I want to ask a question I saw that you.... Do you want to hear what I did on the weekend? I like your shoes. I have a DS too.

What is going wrong in the next picture?

I want to join in!

What could the boy do to start a conversation? Circle the RIGHT answer: A.Sit quietly. B.Get cross with the girls. C.The boy could ask the girls if he can join in.

Activity Everybody write something they would like to say on the piece of paper they have been given. The first person to be asked by the teacher has to turn to the person next to them and tell them what they wrote. The person then makes a circle. Now we will make a chain of words like a conversation.
