Updates and changes for

 Every district is required by the state to have an approved plan  Plan must address needs of all levels of students  Plan includes detailed information about Reading Coaches, reading block, school based fidelity checks, CWT, and reading assessments used to inform instruction.

 New General Education Rule 6A has made the seamless Problem Solving and Response to Intervention (RtI) process a necessity in daily decisions across the curriculum. Instructional decisions must follow the Problem Solving process in order to comply with the new rule. Data must drive instructional decisions. The new plan reflects this verbiage. Professional development will reflect the adjustments in the Plan, as will consistent monitoring.

1. Problem Identification 2. Problem Analysis 3. Plan Development 4. Plan Implementation 5. Plan Evaluation Revise Modify Intensify With Expanding Support A decision making process

 The new Florida Assessments in Reading (Developed by FLDOE) will be used district-wide next year (K-12). This is an assessment that reflects the screening and progress monitoring necessary to follow the procedures described above. Verbiage in the new plan includes this assessment and the decisions that will be made based on the data gleaned from the administrations. This assessment replaces DIBELS, FORF and the GRADE as a fluency measure and diagnostic assessment. It is FREE. Professional development in the administration of the assessment as well as the interpretation of the data is underway and will continue into next school year.

 Reading FEFP is projected to decrease 8%  At present time, projection is 373,000  Traditionally spent on Reading Coach Salaries
