©Joe Gallagher July 2007 Independent Fostering Agency Commissioning Independent Fostering Agencies (IFAs) are private companies that offer placements in fostering families registered to them. IFAs work closely with Local Authorities to deliver these placements.

©Joe Gallagher July 2007 Independent Fostering Agency Commissioning We were asked to come up with a question that we could be responsible for scoring when bids from potential providers came in, eventually this question was decided; How does your organisation involve looked after children and young people in the following areas of your work: Workforce Development and recruitment Service development and planning Monitoring Matching

©Joe Gallagher July 2007 Independent Fostering Agency Commissioning We had to evaluate Q4 on over 80 evaluations! A maximum of 600 words in ‘young person friendly’ speak We had a 20% ‘weight’ in the final decisions made about who the local authorities would be using Of those 80 +, 65 were appointed and we will be involved in the monitoring of Hampshire’s after April 2012
