Directions The 1 st 5 words are for ALL 8 th graders. Copy them down or put them in your phones. Your next test will include these words PLUS all of your old words.

1. Prestigious Prestigious (adj.): respected; admired; having a high status Example: We are going to have several prestigious guests this year, including the governor! Word Forms: Prestige

2. Renowned Renowned (adj.): known or talked about by many people; famous Example: Doctors Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Rameck Hunt have become renowned for their best selling book. Example: Chick-fil-a is famous for its world renowned sandwiches.
