Nouns – Sustantivos Points to remember All nouns in Spanish are masculine or feminine. No exceptions. For people and animals there is often a feminine form of the masculine word. The gender of objects in Spanish is determined by the ending of the word. Articles and adjectives must have the same gender as the nouns they modify.
