Features & Capabilities A free online tool for creating animations with ease Animations can be customized, including selection of characters, backgrounds, props, sounds and special effects Select-drag-drop feature allows for ease of use

Benefits It’s free, but a pay version is also available – GoAnimate Plus No drawing is required Animations are embeddable and can also be shared via social networking sites Missions/badges are offered to encourage skill building A free educator version is available – GoAnimate 4Schools A platform for younger students is also available – Domo Animate

Drawbacks No downloadable version of the software Some capabilities are pay features including uploading images, downloading animations, and exporting animations to Youtube In the educator version, student capabilities are further limited Each character can only perform one action per scene Some content may be deemed inappropriate for students

Classroom Use Examples It allows both students and teachers to present knowledge creatively Student examples - interview a person of interest - re-create a scene from a story - design a skit/dialogue Teacher examples - produce lesson introductions - explain difficult concepts - send notes to students
