WORKING IN COLLABORATIVE GROUPS TO GO OVER THE LANGUAGE ARTS PRE- ASSESSMENT Group it Up! Activity

Facilitator Jobs of the Facilitator Keeps everyone on task and working efficiently Is in charge of flipping the cup to red or green (Ms. Gwynne gets really annoyed when you forget to flip the cup!!) Asks questions of Ms. Gwynne and guides discussion

Materials Manager Jobs of the Materials Manager Only one allowed out of their seat during the Group it Up activity In charge of getting all materials group members may need (highlighters, pencils sharpened, etc) Collects all materials to turn in at the end of the activity and supervises clean up of the group’s area

Time Keeper Jobs of the Time Keeper Watches the clock for both the group and Ms. Gwynne Keeps groups members aware of the time and helps them work efficiently to reach the goal of the assignment

Recorder (if there is a group product that the group turns in at the end of the activity….) Writes down information for the group Determines what is considered important enough to go on the final product Organizes the final product, makes sure it is creative and meets the requirements of the assignment

Prove your Answers!! With your group, you will answer questions # You must PROVE your answers with evidence from the text for full credit on the Group it Up! Activity Evidence includes quotations from the text, examples, a description of what paragraph you found the answer, and/or elimination of other answers. The group who works the best together and provides the strongest evidence for their answers will earn a PRIZE tomorrow!
