Who are we?:  Two different types of members - two different sets of interests 1. Practice theory researchers - latest in practice theory, venues to publish, interesting empirical cases and data, collaborators 2. Practitioners – applicable theories, latest in research, network  Common ground: 1. Strategy activities, strategy worker and strategy tools 2. Learning from each other

Goals:  Innovative learning opportunities in the field of Practice of Strategy  Career support for academic members and networking opportunities for both groups  Benefits from Practice IG membership not only 4 days a year but continuously

How:  Three working groups: 1. Strategy and vision 2. Communication, PR and membership services 3. Practitioner connections

Current initiatives: 1. SMS Best Conference Paper Prize for Practice Implications (4 th year) 2. Virtual desk 3. Joint conference with Process IG spring 2010, Finland (special SMJ issue?) 4. Continuity: Recommend last year Reps at Large to become candidates for Associate IG Chair election 5. Linking with other established Practice groups (Academy, EGOS, BAM, EURAM)
