Presentation transcript:

 We chose free time for our question because we like different sports and free time activities.  We were interested in free time activities from different European countries because we wanted to know if teenagers from other countries spend their free time in the same way as we do.

 We learnt about their way of life and that in other schools students like free time a lot. And many of them play at least one kind of sport. Girls like handball, volleyball and swimming, but boys prefer football, skiing, cycling, ice hockey, etc. We like the same sports.  When they have holidays, they do sports in the countryside or they go out in the city with friends.  One school answered, that their free time activities are connected to the festivals in their village.  The pupils like pretty much the same things - like watching TV, playing computer games, various sports, etc.  A lot of children have got a pet. The most common pet is a cat or a dog.

 People would build some clubs, modern areas, a swimming pool, places for riding with bike or skateboard, bigger cinemas, cafés, a disco and renovate the old ones.  They would also organize concerts close to the centre of the city, they would also have better information technology and have exchanges with other international schools. They would change human mentality, because they want to have cleaner parks and have more trees and green places, but they think that this is impossible.

 Some students answered they wouldn`t change anything because they love their free time and they think that wouldn`t make things better. They also like school.

 In other countries a lot of children play tennis which isn´t very popular in Slovenia.  Some students answered that they spend their free time in cafés or night clubs, but in many schools students don’t do those things, because they are too young.  There aren’t many differences in different schools, because they do the same sports and things in their free time.  They also want to change a lot of things in their countries.

 Well, I think that people from other countries have other things to do in their free time, because of the weather (some countries do not have snow, so they can’t go skiing, etc.), I also think that culture and religion can influence free-time activities. Some people have famous football players (or any other sports person) as idols (like Beckham), and they want to be footballers too, so they train football; and if that country hasn’t got any cricket players for example, noone is going to play cricket.

 The consequences are that they play different sports, listen to other music and read other books… So Slovenia could have totally different free time activities than any other country.

 We do lot of things as others schools do. We watch TV or chat with our friends on MSN, go out and play with friends, go to the cinema or park, we listen to music, play sports and lots of other things.  We like that we learn about other schools and learn their way of life in such an interesting way. We also like that we don’t write postcards, because the time when a postcard comes to another country is very long.
