MICHIGAN COI REPORT Violations in Countable Athletically Related Activities Required Warm Up and Stretching Activities Were Not Being Counted Sport Specific Staff Members Were Watching Volunteer Activities (Director of Operations/Quality Control) Time In Between Activities is Countable
DURING DECLARED SEASON Weekly Hour Limitation: 20 Hrs. of Countable Athletics Related Activities per week (not an all inclusive list): Competition (3 Hours a day) Practice Strategy Sessions/Film/Chalk Talk Skill Instruction Required Weight Training/Conditioning Team meetings
DURING DECLARED SEASON Weekly Hour Limitation: 4 Hours per day Max Golf Practice Round Exception Required 1 day off per week Travel Day May Be Used Basketball Exception – 3 contests in a week
DURING DECLARED SEASON Vacation Periods: Daily and weekly hour limitations do not apply during official vacation periods CARA Prohibited After Competition Film/Video on bus After arrival back to campus

VOLUNTARY ACTIVITIES All Conditions must be met: Activity must not be required to report back to coach Activity must be initiated and requested by student-athlete Activity may not be recorded for purposes of reporting back to coaching staff Student Athlete may not be subject to penalty if student-athlete elects not to participate
VOLUNTARY ACTIVITIES COACHING STAFF MEMBERS MAY NOT BE PRESENT DURING ANY VOLUNTARY ACTIVITIES Exceptions : Safety Exception: Track and Field field events, jumping hurdles or jumping element of steeplechase Coach may provide safety and skill instruction, but may not conduct the workout

PARTICIPATION AWARDS Underclassman - $225 Seniors - $425 Timing of Awards – February 16, 2000 Interp states that we may not provide annual participation awards prior to conclusion of regular season
OTHER AWARDS Special Event Participation Championship Awards Special Achievement Awards Scholar-Athlete, MVP - $175 Per November 17, 1996 interp, we may not award game balls to student-athletes for performances in contests
TEAM ENTERTAINMENT Away from Home Competition (16.7.1) Permissible to pay actual costs of reasonable entertainment w/in 100 mile radius of practice or competition May not provide cash to student-athletes for entertainment purposes Pro sports tickets are permissible
TEAM ENTERTAINMENT Vacation Periods (16.7.1) When team is required to remain on campus during vacation period Permissible to pay actual costs of reasonable entertainment w/in 30 miles of campus May not provide cash to student-athletes for entertainment purposes Pro sports tickets are not permissible
TEAM ENTERTAINMENT Movies in Conjunction w/ Home Contest (16.7.2) Permissible night before a contest DVD Rental Movie Theater May not provide cash
