Where Is The Mountain Region The mountain region is in the west part of NC Is not near the water It is next to the Piedmont

What Is The Climate There? In the day times averaging is in the low 40’s and upper 30’s. Snowfall in the mountains is usually inches (36-51cm.) per year, but greater in the higher elevations.One time in the blizzard of1993, more than 50in. (130cm.) of snow fell on Mount Mitchell over a period of days.

How Big Is The Mountain Region The mountain region takes up to 11,000 square miles. It is roughly the size of Massachusetts.
