There is Art that decorates … and Art that liberates. According to the artist, Fred Babbs: “Good Art won’t match your sofa.”

Art liberates when it is the result of the creative process. It expresses who we are. Visual art can be 2-dimensional such as: drawing, painting, and printmaking, or it can be 3-dimensional such as: sculpture and ceramics.

There are many styles of art. The style depends on the artist and the environment in which it was created.

All styles of art consist of the arrangement of the art elements. Line Color Texture Shape Space Form

Arranging these art elements in a unique and wonderful way, makes it a work of art. Our perception of the work of art can stir the senses and the imagination. “Art is one of the few things left worth doing.” Fred Babbs
