What are Electronic Sources? Aggregated databases Online journals Web sites or Web pages newsgroups Web- or -based discussion groups Web- or -based newsletters.

It is very important to cite information properly in order to give credit where credit is due. Why is it important to cite information correctly?

Basic Guidelines Direct readers directly to the information being cited. Avoid home or menu pages. Always provide addresses that work

Key Information to Include When Citing Electronic Sources… Document title or description Date URL (the web site address) Authors (if possible)

A Winning Citation Includes a Correct & Working URL If the URL is not correct, then the credibility of your paper will suffer. It is best to copy the URL from the address window and paste it into your document. Check all URLs before turning in the final draft.

Citations must include specific information about the source and be in a specific order with specific punctuation. Don’t Get Frustrated With the Specifics
