Electric Circuit A path on which electrons move continuously is called an electric circuit.
Ampheres A unit measuring the energy available to push an electrical charge through a circuit.
Electric Current The electric current is produced by a power source, such as a battery or electric outlet.
Think: In an electric circuit, how does an electric current travel through the circuit?
Electrons move along a wire made of metal. The metal attracts the electrons and is called a conductor.
Surrounding the metal is a covering made of rubber or another protective material. This cover is keeping the electrons contained so they stay on the metal path. This covering is called an insulator.
Think: What will happen if the electric circuit is broken? Why?
Think: What are some things we use that need a closed circuit to work?
Think: Why is static electricity NOT a good source of energy? (power source)
