If youre not from Alabama This presentation was created by Mrs. Roberts students. October 2010

If youre not from Alabama, you dont know Huntsville. The U. S. Space and Rocket Center is the largest in the world. The space shuttle is as tall as a ten story sky scraper.

If youre not from Alabama, you dont know about our famous people. Rosa Parks was as brave as Martin Luther King. She would not give up her seat, which led to the Montgomery bus boycott.

If youre not from Alabama, you dont know peanuts. George Washington Carver, an educator at the Tuskegee Institute, discovered more than 300 products that could be made from peanuts. Peanuts look like the number eight.

If youre not from Alabama, You dont know cotton. Cotton grows in the sticky black soil known as the Black Belt. Cotton is as white as snow.

If youre not from Alabama, You dont know about Civil Rights. The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute was built to honor those who died fighting for equal rights. The museum is as important as freedom.
