BEFORE YOU BEGIN Plan carefully Do your research Know your audience

PLANNING YOUR SLIDES One MAIN IDEA/TOPIC Additional points supporting idea/topic Consider the arrangement of your slides: Overview, Body, Conclusion Anecdote(story), Content, Conclusion Order of Importance Chronological Order

CREATING SLIDES Use design templates Standardize position, colors, and styles Include only necessary information Limit the information to essentials Content should be self-evident

CREATING SLIDES (CONTINUED) Use colors that contrast Reds, oranges, and yellows= warm (pop out and attract attention) Safe to combine warm colors/ shades of brown Greens, blues, and purples= cool (less noticeable) Safe to combine cool colors/ shades of gray White, black, and beige- neutral/ go well with all
